Sneem Friendship Day

The annual Friendship day hosted by the Church of the Transfiguration in Sneem was again very well attended, despite atypical weather (in other words it didn’t rain much this year). Gourmet Lunches, painted faces, cakes to take home for the family, games, books, live music from Kit McCafferty, dainty teas, flowers, plants, skittles, photographic competitions, shuffleboarding (it’s a bit like surfboarding, but not very) – you name it, it was there. The idea is to open the Church on the August Bank Holiday Monday to welcome both locals and visitors, sharing the money raised between the local community and the two Sneem Churches – although raising money isn’t as important as offering a welcome. Once more, the Sneem congregation excelled themselves in working flat out to provide that welcome; we appreciate the work that goes into making the day such a success.
