Two New Diocesan Readers for TKA

The venue was the Connemara village of Roundstone, in the lovely little Church of Saint Mary sitting above the bay flecked with wave and sunshine. Two new Ministers of the Gospel, Diocesan Lay Readers, were added to the TKA Team.

Maebh O’Herlihy hails from Achill in the Aughaval ( Westport ) Group of Parishes and Carole Reynolds from Omey ( Clifden ) Group. Both were accompanied by their Rectors, Canon Val Rogers in Maebh’s case and Very Revd Stan Evans in Carole’s.

The Service of the Word was conducted by Provost Stan. Maebh and Carole read the lessons. The Warden of Readers, Very Rev Alistair Grimason, presented the candidates to Bishop Rooke, who also preached, for Commissioning and Licencing. And Canon Val led the packed congregation in The Prayers of Intercession.

A most sumptuous supper, smoked salmon and all, was served in The Roundstone House Hotel afterwards.
