The Very Revd Alistair Grimason RIP

It was with deep sadness that yesterday, 29th November, we learned of the death of the Dean of Tuam, the Very Revd Alistair Grimason.    Incumbent of the Tuam & Omey Group of Parishes, the Dean served TKA, now TLK Diocese and the wider Church of Ireland with dedication and devotion.  He has left his mark and will be truly missed.

We extend our condolences to his loving family, friends, parishioners and colleagues.

Some words from Bishop Burrows – “Alistair was one of those people whom one never forgot once one met him. He was always his own man, fearless in speech yet thoroughly pastoral in character. He touched the life of the Church of Ireland at many points, most notably through his sustained and committed service as dean of Tuam since 2000. He loved the West, and was truly and almost biblically a fisherman who drew all sorts and conditions of people into the net of the Gospel through his commanding and engaging personality. I could say so much more, and do so with genuine affection .. but we will all have our own memories”.
