Senior Summer Camp by Edward Hardy (Banagher)
Our final event of the summer was our Senior Summer Camp which took please at Lissadell Youth Conference and Youth Centre, Co. Sligo. There were 27 participants and leaders in attendance which included Steve Grasham (Youth Ministry Development Officer CIYD) and his wife Rev Fran Grasham who both facilitated our workshop and worship times throughout the week. The theme explored for the week was “I am….”. Throughout the week we explored sessions on “… Good Shepherd”, “….Light of the World”, “…..the Way”, “…..true Vine”, “…Bread of Life”, “….the Resurrection” The worship times for the week concluded with a Eucharist on Friday morning celebrated by Rev. Fran Grasham.
Also during the week the group participated in many activities including: Zany Icebreaker Games, Table Quiz, Charades, Disco, Two days of Outdoor activities at Donegal Adventure Centre which included team challenges , surfing , coasteering and kayaking, Day Trip to Lough Key Forest & Activity Park for Zip it Forest Tree Top Adventure courses and followed by a very unique challenge of “Boda Borg” , Trip to town of Bundoran for swimming at Waterworld, Bowling and Amusements at Glowbowl & Fast Food at a chipper, Stand Up Paddle boarding. There was also lots of good food, free time and a little bit of sleep!!!
