On a Saturday in November, a group gathered at Ballycastle on the north Mayo coast for a day of reflection and Christian community. The theme for the retreat, was the person of the Holy Spirit and his influence in this world and our lives.
As a Christian Community, we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, times of reflection, prayer, art, music and a meal together.
Claire who is an artist, painted two images for the Holy Spirit onto pieces of slate. One depicted the image of a Dove and the other – the Wild Goose. The symbol of the Wild Goose for the Holy Spirit comes from the island of Iona off the western coast of Scotland. It is the Celtic symbol of the Holy Spirit … and is a reminder that the Spirit of God cannot be tamed or contained!
