The first of the Advent Series – Light the things, now hidden in darkness – 1 Corinthians 4:5 took place last week at St Flannan’s Cathedral, Killaloe. You can listen to Peter McVerry’s talk by clicking the link below.
For Advent 2 on 6th December, 2022 an inspirational talk was delivered by Paul Ritchie of Limerick Baptist Church. Paul published in recent times “Is it Unspiritual to be Depressed? Loved by God in the Midst of Pain” – tune in to Scariff Bay Community Radio on Sunday 11th December, 2022 at 7pm to catch up. Rev Paul Fitzpatrick expressed his thanks to SBCR for recording and broadcasting the Advent Talks.
The next talk at St Flannan’s will take place on Tuesday 13th December, 2022 (Advent 3) at 7.30pm with David Bolton, author of “Conflict, Peace and Mental Health: Addressing the consequence of conflict and trauma in Northern Ireland”. He is founder of the NI centre for trauma.
On Tuesday 20th December, 2022 (Advent 4) at 7.30pm Leona O’Callaghan, Mental Health Campaigner, will share her amazing story of overcoming adversity and evil. She is one, who used her pain to help people like herself and challenges the justice system in their treatment of survivors.
All are welcome to attend. The sessions will be streamed via the webcams and afterwards there will be an opportunity for follow up and support.
The series of talks for Advent are funded by the CoI MindMatters initiative. If anyone would like more information please contact Rev Paul Fitzpatrick by email at [email protected].
