Do things necessarily have to fall apart?

For the second year running Limerick Civic Trust has organised an Autumn Lecture Series at St Mary’s Cathedral Limerick, sponsored by the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick. One of this year’s speakers is Stephen Green, former Chair and Chief Executive of HSBC, one of the largest banks in the world. He was made a life peer in Britain in 2010, and Lord Green served for a period in the British Government as Minister of State for Trade and Investment. What is not widely known is that Lord Green is an ordained Anglican priest, and serves as an NSM in his local parish in the Church of England.

This year’s Lecture Series is entitled “Things Fall Apart – but can the Centre Hold? – Peripherality and Centrality in Ireland and Europe”. Lord Green will speak on Thursday 14th September at 7.30 pm (tickets €12 at the door), and the evening will be chaired by Quentin Peel of the Financial Times.
