The young people from the Birr Group of Parishes have been collecting coins for the last several weeks, and each Sunday trying to make a row of coins stretch from the
back of Birr Church to the front. On Sunday, 4 th February, they did it! They started collecting €2 coins, but were happy to take €1 coins as well. The final total: €1200!
The collection will be given to the Midlands Simon Community, which provides emergency accommodation and support for the homeless. Many thanks to all who contributed so generously, and most especially to the young people who laid out the coins each Sunday and collected them up afterwards.
